For 40 years now Melis Meat Market continues to share the same passion and care by
providing to their customers top quality fresh meat.

In our meat market you can find a wide selection of meat products and ready to cook
products by our own production.  

Quality, fast service and competitive prices are the main aspects that make our company
being successful all this years.

Consumers can be served through our nine retail shops within the city of Limassol.

 

Our history starts since 1974, when MELIS & SONS (MEAT MARKET) LTD was founded
in Limassol by Mr. Melis Christodoulou at the current Arch. Makariou III Avenue shop in
Mesa Yitonia.

In 1979 the older son of Mr. Melis Christodoulou, Mr Alexandros Christodoulou
joins the family business. Nowadays Mr. Alexandros Christodoulou is the General Manager of
MELIS & SONS (MEAT MARKET) LTD.

In 1989 the company is formed into a limited responsibility private company with its main
activity being the retail sale of fresh meat.

In 1991 Mr. Christos Christodoulou the youngest son of Mr. Melis Christodoulou joins the
company. Nowadays Mr. Christos Christodoulou holds the position of the Livestock
Production Manager on our privately owned farms.

In 1997 the company expands its operations by opening a new retail shop in Ayios
Athanasios area. At this premises the head offices of the company also reside.

In 2004 our company becomes the first meat market nationally that implemented and
become certified with the HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) food
safety management system. Currently our company is certified with the ISO 22000:2005
food safety management system.

Nowadays the company operates nine retail shops and its own modern and contemporary
farming facilities breeding lamb and goats as well as fattening pigs in order to ensure that
top quality fresh meat will reach the consumers.

Is worth mentioning that “new family blood” joins the family run business constantly
as the company is now operated by the 2nd and 3rd generation of the founder.

 

Through our constant development we seek to retain and enhance the quality of fresh
meat and service we provide to our customers in order to satisfy even their most
demanding needs and wants.

In few words quality is synonym with our brand, that’s why our vision can be described as
“whatever product can be found in our retail shops has to be under the brand name MELIS”.

• Cyprus Veterinary Services Certifications: Our company is certified with all the relevant
